What if I paid my ticket on-line and the web site did not display a payment confirmation page (transaction ID)?

In rare instances there may be a delay in receiving a payment confirmation from our commercial credit card processor and the system may not be able to display the payment confirmation page (transaction ID). Please contact City Court at 225-389-5289 directly to confirm the status of your payment if that message is not displayed.

What if I have a specific question or concern about my traffic ticket?

Call the Baton Rouge City Court at 225-389-3020 where the ticket was issued.

Can I view all my traffic tickets with my plate or driver's license number?

Our on-line system does not allow a lookup by license plate number or driver's license number. You will need your traffic ticket number to lookup your ticket on the on-line system.

What type of tickets can be paid through this on-line service?

A parking or traffic ticket (moving violation) issued by Baton Rouge City Police or Airport Police. You will need the ticket number to view and pay your ticket on-line.

Can I pay a portion of the fine due now and the rest at a later time?

This online payment center can only process the total payment due.

Can all tickets be paid through the on-line payment center?

NO, only tickets that are issued for a payable violation and do not require a court appearance, and tickets in which the court date has not already passed.

What can I do to keep this ticket off my driving record?

There are two Louisiana Code of Criminal Procedure laws, Article 892.1 and Article 894, that provide a method to keep a ticket off your record. Once your ticket is paid and your case closed, you cannot apply for these programs, so if you wish to pursue one of these methods, you cannot pay your ticket online. Please click here for further information about eligibility for these programs.

What if I don't have a credit card?

On-line payment requires a VISA/MASTERCARD/American Express to use the payment option. Please refer to the back of the traffic ticket for alternate payment options.

Will I get a receipt for a payment made on-line?

If a payment is made successfully on-line a confirmation number (transaction ID) will be generated and available to print as a receipt. If you provide your e-mail address when prompted, a confirmation (transaction ID) will also be e-mailed to you.

Will other people see my credit card number over the web?

No, Your credit card information will be encrypted using the latest SSL (Secure Socket Layer). The transmission of your information will be safe.

Will I still need to contact the court to resolve my traffic ticket?

Once the Submit Payment button is clicked, if the credit card is authorized, a confirmation page (transaction ID) will be provided. You may print for your records, and if an e-mail address is provided, you will receive another confirmation. The confirmation page (transaction ID) indicates a payment has been received and the traffic matter is resolved. No further action is necessary. On-line credit card payments post to Baton Rouge City Court system on the next business day..

Will there be an additional charge for using my credit card to pay my ticket?

Yes, a 5% convenience fee will be added to the ticket amount for processing a credit card payment.

Can a ticket be paid at any time?

Payments made on or before 11:59 p.m. will be credited to that business day. On-line payments made after 11:59 p.m. on a given day, will be credited on the next business day.

A traffic ticket may be paid any time the on-line system is available, 24 hours a day, seven (7) days a week.

Why won’t my ticket come up?

POSSIBLE REASONS YOUR TICKET WILL NOT APPEAR ARE:

  • Incorrect ticket number
  • Incorrect Court (these tickets are issued by BR City Police and Airport Police ONLY)
  • COURT REQUIRED TICKET
  • Past due Court Date
  • Ticket already paid.

What if my ticket is past the court date?

You must come to court to pay it. A late Failure to Appear (FTA) fee will be assessed.

What if I have more than one (1) ticket?

You must enter and pay each ticket separately.

What if I get the message “SERVER IS BUSY”?
